Villagers Locked Panchayat Office Without Finding The Panchayat Secretary.

On reaching the Panchayat Office, the Villagers locked the Panchayat Office without finding the Panchayat Secretary on Friday (7th July, 2023). The accused Panchayat Secretary does not come to the Panchayat regularly.

Allegedly the Panchayat Secretary of Manik Debbarma ADC Village Panchayat under Mungiakami RD Block has not come to office for almost a month. The villagers could not find the Panchayat Secretary in the Panchayat Office. The villagers of the area were forced to lock the Panchayat office on Friday. The villagers complained that the Panchayat Secretary was actually absent for various tasks in the Panchayat office. As a result, they are suffering daily. Local residents are not getting papers on time due to Secretary for ROR or other papers in Panchayat. Police from Teliamura police station rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident, but the local residents refused to listen. The villagers placed deputation to the BDO of Mungiakami Block. Their demanded to change the Panchayat Secretary. The BDO is said to have calmed down the villagers for the time being by assuring them that action will be taken. It is to be noted that the work of South Gokulnagar Panchayat was also conducted in the same place where Manik Debbarma ADC Village Panchayat office is located. Due to the difficulty of managing the work of two Panchayats in the same building, later an office has been arranged for South Gokulnagar at another place but the work has not started there yet. Using that opportunity, the Panchayat Secretary does not come to the Panchayat regularly. As a result, the villagers are suffering daily.
