Manipur, 8th of October 2024 : Two students from Manipur, mentored by Assam Rifles have participated in various events of World Mental Health Week program, began on October 6 at Rashtriya Raksha University at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
A press statement from Assam Rifles, IGAR(East) said that during the five-day program participants would engage in various interactive sessions, workshops, and counselling sessions aimed at development of mental health. The curriculum is designed to address the unique challenges faced by students growing up in conflict zones, with a focus on resilience-building, emotional intelligence, and peer support.
The statement further said the World Mental Health Week aims to provide psychological support, enhance awareness of mental health issues, and promote overall emotional resilience among students.
It stated that “The participation in the event highlights the role played by Assam Rifles in deradicalisation of youth and maintaining mental health of students in conflict-hit Manipur”. Assam Rifles remains committed to not only maintaining peace and security in the northeastern region but also empowering its people through educational, health, and community outreach programs.
