Gandatwisa, Tripura, 3rd of December, 2024 : With the initiative of Tourism Department Government of Tripura Tourism Promo Fest organized at Narkel Kunja, Dumboor, Gandatwisa on Tuesday (3rd December, 2024). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated by lighting the lamp.
Addressing inauguration ceremony of Tourism Promo Fest Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, the rich traditional culture of the state will also be highlighted through such festivals. Moreover, this initiative will make the state’s tourism more attractive to tourists. The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built suspension bridge over the Dumboor reservoir today. He handed over the registration certificate to 1 private entrepreneurs of home stays set up at different places in Narkel Kunja. This is the first time that such a tourism promo fest is being organized in the State under the initiative of the Tourism Department of the Government of Tripura. In these festivals, a food festival will be organized with the indigenous along with a display of traditional musical instruments and costumes of the state. Renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal will participate in this festival on December 14.
At the event, Chief Minister also added that initiatives have been taken to create employment opportunities on tourism as well as to increase GDP in the state. Along with the Lahat in Narikelkunj, 7 stay houses built by private initiatives were inaugurated here today. He said that 10 Lahats have been built under the Swadesh Darshan project to develop tourism in the state, which will be launched soon. So far, 51 Lahats have been built in the state under the Swadesh Darshan project. The Chief Minister said that the state government has given utmost importance to infrastructure development for the overall development of the state. Most of the demands made by the MLAs here to the Chief Minister have been fulfilled.
Secretary of Tourism Department UK Chakma delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. The closing ceremony will be held at Swami Vivekananda ground in Agartala on December 14. MLA Nandita Debbarma Reang, Dhalai District Magistrate Saju Vaheed, MDC Bhumikananda Riat, Prashant Badal Negi, Director, Tourism, senior officials and many other dignitaries were present in the event.
