Agartala, Tripura, 9th of December, 2024 : In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury has inaugurated Tourism Promo Fest- 2024 at Neermahal, Melaghar on Monday (9th December, 2024).
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Tourism Promo Fest Hon’ble Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, Neermahal is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in North East India. Moreover, Neermahal is the largest water palace in the Indian subcontinent. The name of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur is associated with Neermahal. The architectural style and picturesque natural beauty of Neermahal attract tourists. After Narikelkunj, the second event of the Tripura Tourism Promo Fest-2024 is being held at Neermahal today. The infrastructure of the state’s tourist centers is being developed to attract tourists from different parts of the world. Tourism is being given importance in the economic development of the state. There is huge potential for employment in the state centered on the tourism industry.
UK Chakma, Secretary of Transport Department, Transport Department delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Sepahijala Prashant Badal Negi, Director, Tourism, Govt. of Tripura, Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das Dutta, MLA Bindu Debnath, officials and many others dignitaries were remained present in the programme.
