Jampui, Tripura, 11th of December, 2024 : With the initiative of Tourism Department Government of Tripura Tourism Promo Fest organized at Jampui Hills on Wednesday (11th December, 2024). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury has inaugurated Tourism Promo Fest- 2024 at Jampui Hills by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Tourism Promo Fest Hon’ble Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, Natural beauty and cultural diversity are the most promising areas for the development of tourism industry in the state. The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest -2024 is being organized for the first time at the initiative of the Tourism Department to showcase the State’s tourism to the whole world. The first and second events of this promo fest were organized at Narkel Kunja and Neermahal.
The Tourism minister remarked that Initiatives have been taken for the infrastructural development of the state’s tourist centers. This is increasing the arrival of tourists from different parts of the world to the state. There is also a huge potential for creating employment opportunities in the state by focusing on the tourism industry. The tourism minister also added that initiatives have been taken to develop home stay facilities in various tourist centers of the state for the development of the tourism industry. Speaking on the occasion, the Tourism Minister said that Jampui Hills is the only hill station in the state. Initiatives will be taken to develop tourism in Jampui Hills by utilizing the natural beauty here.
Secretary of Tourism Department UK Chakma delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma, North Tripura Zilla Parishad Aparna Nath, MLA Philip Kumar Reang, MLA Pramod Reang, Deepak Kumar, IAS, SDM, Kanchanpur, MDC Bhabaranjan Reang, MDC Bhumikananda Reang, MDC Shailendra Nath, Prashant Badal Negi, Director, Tourism, Govt. of Tripura, and many others dignitaries were remained present in the event. Eminent artists of the state and local artists performed music, Hajagiri dance at the festival.
