TIUT Responds To The Crisis : Relief And Health Camp Organised In Flood Affected Areas.

Agartala, Tripura, 31st of August, 2024 : Reacting to the severe disruption of lives caused by the recent floods in Tripura, Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT), took the initiative on Friday to visit a relief camp in the heavily affected Kakraban region of Udaipur Subdivision. This step was inspired by Shri Satyam Roychowdhury, Hon’ble Chancellor of TIUT, whose vision of social responsibility and community service guided the University’s response. TIUT organized the distribution of relief materials and conducted a health camp at the relief camp set up at Kakraban HS School, providing free medical services. Supported by doctors and pharmacists of the State Health Services including Rtd. Senior Medical Officer, Dr. N. C. Saha, the health camp conducted over 160 medical checkups and provided free medicines.

Additionally, more than 500 bags of essential materials were distributed to families, including 400+ bags within the camp and also to families who visited from other nearby camps and an additional 100+ bags to families in neighbouring areas on the way, impacting over 1000 people, including children. Students, teaching and non teaching staff members were led by the VC of TIUT, Prof. R. K. Saha to the camp.

TIUT extends its deepest appreciation to Shri Jitendra Majumder, MLA, Kakraban; Shri Tridip Sarkar, SDM, Udaipur Subdivision, Shri Anindya Dutta Majumder, BDO, Kakraban; Shri Biswajit Sarkar, Eminent personality, Kakraban; Shri Sanjit Adhikari, Panchayat Pradhan, for extending all kinds of help in organising this event and also for visiting the camp. The university is also grateful to Shri Narayan Chandra Das, Principal-in-Charge, and Smt. Manna Debbarma, Vice Principal of Kakraban HS School, for providing the school premises and their constant assistance.

TIUT remains committed to its mission to create socially responsible citizens. This initiative not only provided immediate relief to those in need but also strengthened the bonds within the community during this time of crisis.
