State level Birth Anniversary Celebration Of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

Agartala, Tripura, 25th of September, 2024 : With the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of Tripura celebrated State level Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala on Wednesday (25th September, 2024).   

In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp and emphasized Pandit Upadhyaya’s belief that India’s development cannot be achieved by adopting foreign philosophies. So the Chief Minister stated that we have to follow the ideology of thinkers like Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Upadhyaya himself. A short documentary on Pandit Upadhyaya’s life was screened, and floral tributes were offered by the CM and other dignitaries.

Addressing the birth anniversary ceremony Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha highlighted Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s contributions as a statesman and the founder of united humanism, stressing that his philosophy continues to provide guidance for India’s progress. The posthumous Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Award was presented to Brajesh Chakraborty for his notable contributions to social work and public relations. He was awarded Rs 1 lakh in cash, memento and a shawl. An essay competition was also held as part of the celebration, with Sneha Saha, Devatri Nandi, and Mujibur Rahman securing the top three positions.

Addressing the event Dr. Anirban Ganguly,  Chairman of Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Research Foundation, New Delhi, said, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay was a political philosopher, organizer, writer, editor and above all a patriot. His plans for the welfare of India were full of foresightedness. He always talked about the national entity. He used to say, independence without national entity will be of no use. Shri Ganguly and his wife were felicitated on the occasion by the State Government.

The welcome speech is being delivered by Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, P.K Chakraborty said, apart from the state-level program, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary was celebrated in 22 sub-divisions. Vice Chairman of State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraboty, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs department Bimbisar Bhattacharya and many other dignitaries were present in the birth anniversary ceremony. Afterwards an open quiz competition was held with school students.
