State Election Commission Announces Panchayat Election Of Tripura On 8th August And Counting On 12th August, 2024.

Agartala, 10th of July, 2024 : The Election Commission of Tripura Saradindu Chaudhari on Wednesday (10th July, 2024) has announced the date of Panchayat Election of Tripura on 8th August, 2024. Tripura Election Commission said, on 11th July, 2024 (Thursday) public notice relating to the elections will be issued.

In the press conference the Election Commission said, the submission of Nomination papers will continue till July 18, 2024 (Thursday). The date of Scrutiny has been fixed on July 19, 2024 (Friday). The last date of withdrawal of nomination is July 22, 2024 (Monday). Date of Poll on August 8, 2024 from 7 am to 4 pm (Thursday). Counting of votes will be held on 12th August 2024, Counting of votes will start from 8 am. The entire election process will end on 17th August, 2024.

The state election commissioner said that nomination papers can be submitted to the returning officers from 11 am to 3 pm from July 11, 2024 to July 18, 2024, excluding public holidays. Voting will be done through ballot paper. A voter shall cast three votes. There will be three different coloured ballot paper for this. Ballot papers will be White in colour for Gram Panchayat, Pink in colour for Panchayat Samiti and Green in color for Zilla Parishad.

In the press conference, the State Election Commissioner also said that voting will be held for 6,370 seats in 3,517 centers of 606 Gram Panchayats, 423 seats in 423 centers of 35 Panchayat Samiti and 116 seats in 116 centers of 8 Zilla Parishads. According to the final voter list, 12,94,153 voters can exercise their right to vote in this year’s Panchayat elections. Out of this, male voters are 6,58,445, female voters are 6,35,697 and others are 11. Voters can exercise their right to vote by showing a photo ID.

In a press conference, the state election commissioner also said that a total of 2,650 polling stations are being opened in this year’s Panchayat elections. Among them, 347 polling stations are being opened in North Tripura, 234 in Unkoti district, 168 in Dhalai district, 242 in Khowai district, 451 in West district, 537 in Sipahijala district, 279 in Gomti district and 392 in South Tripura district. The State Election Commissioner said that as soon as the Panchayat election was announced, the standard code of conduct was implemented in the places where the Panchayat election is being held. Meetings have been held with all the political parties including the District Election Officer, Returning Officers to conduct the election process in a free, fair and peaceful manner. He sought the cooperation of all concerned for the smooth completion of all electoral processes. Inspector General of Police L. Darlong, State Election Commission Secretary Asit Kumar Das and others were present in the press conference.
