Khowai, 12th of January 2024 : With the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs Department and Municipal Council of Khowai, National Youth Day and Rashtriya Yuva Diwas celebrated in collaboration of Sri Sri Ramakrishna and Khowai Cultural Cell at Town Hall, Khowai on Friday (12th January, 2024). National Youth Day & Rashtriya Yuva Diwas celebrated in an event that honours the 162nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda one of the greatest Philosophers and spiritual leaders. Swami Vivekananda was born in Kolkata on 12th January, 1863. The theme for National Youth Day 2024 is “Arise, Awake, and Realise the Power You Hold”. In view of the 162nd birth anniversary, organizer seminar has been organized on National Youth Day and Rashtriya Yuva Diwas.
Addressing the gathering the Member of Khowai Zilla Parishad Subrata Majumder said, Swami Vivekananda was a great pious leader, philosopher, and also a devout personality with great principles. It is because of that knowledge that the whole world will be eternally grateful to Swamiji for the way he propagated Sanatan Dharma in Chicago, America, and it is unimaginable that the standard of India was sitting high at that time by taking Sanatan Dharma to the court of the world. At that time, he fought against the British and encouraged the youth to take a leading role in India’s freedom struggle by taking responsibility for Mother India. That is the people of India celebrate his birthday as the National Youth Day.
Swami Amartanandaji Maharaj, Secretary of Agartala Ramakrishna Mission, Chairman of Khowai Municipal Council Debasish Nath Sharma, Secretary of Khowai Ramakrishna Ashram Manik Debnath, Senior Information Officer of ICA Biswajit Banik, Students of various schools and colleges and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
