Agartala, Tripura, 31st of October 2024 : National Unity Day is observed with due respect and dignity at KTDS Police Training Academy, Narsingarh, Agartala on Thursday (31st October, 2024).
Every year, on October 31, observes National Unity Day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. This significant day commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a pivotal figure in India’s struggle for independence and the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India. Renowned for his exceptional leadership and unyielding commitment to national integration, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is fondly remembered as the “Iron Man of India.” National Unity Day serves as a reminder of his efforts to unite the diverse princely states into a single nation and fosters a spirit of solidarity among the people of India.
Addressing the National Unity Day Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is the symbol of unity and solidarity of the country. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is fondly remembered as the “Iron Man of India. National Unity Day serves as a reminder of the values that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel embodied: unity, integrity, and inclusiveness. National Unity Day, or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, The birthday (October 31) of independent India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel has been observed as Rashtriya Eta Day across the country since 2014. Its main purpose is to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Also to encourage all in confronting all evil forces inside and outside our country who are trying to weaken the country and disturb the integrity of the country.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Run for Unity’ in 2014 with the aim of paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the unity and integrity of the country. The Chief Minister said that during the period of independence of India, Sardar Patel included about 562 territories in India especially between 1947-1949. The work was made possible because of Sardar Patel’s strong mind and strong action. The Chief Minister said that Tripura Police has completed 150 years of service to the people of the state. Tripura Police has been able to effectively control crime in the state. the last five years, the number of 12 police stations and out posts has increased in the state. As a result, the overall law and order situation in the state is under control. In times of crisis, the Emergency Response Support System – 112 has been launched for the general public to seek police assistance”, the Chief Minister also added.
State Chief Secretary J.K Sinha, State Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, senior police officer and many others remained present in the programme.
