Agartala, 27th of June, 2024 : With the initiative of Industries & Commerce Department Government of Tripura observed Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) day at International Fair Ground, Hapania, Agartala on (27th June, 2024). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Addressing at the observance of MSMEs day Hon’ble Industries & Commerce Minister Santana Chakma said that in the economic development of the state, special attention has been given to the development of micro, small and medium industries in the state. Government aims at economic development of the state and making the people self-reliant. The people related to these industries are being made aware of the correct and comprehensive information about the various projects of the State and Central Government for the development of micro, small and medium industries in the state. All these industries will be helpful in the development of the industry if they can utilize the government scheme facilities. Every year, June 27 is celebrated as the International Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Day all over the world. The Industries & Commerce Minister also added that as of June, 2024, 58,743 industrial establishments have been registered in the MSME Udyam scheme in the state. Of these, 57,725 are registered as micro, 949 small and 69 medium industries.
Director of Industry and Commerce Department Vishwasree B. said in the event, about 3 lakh micro, small and medium industries are registered in the North Eastern states. 35 percent of the registered industries in the state are run entirely by women. She also added that the Central Government has recently sanctioned ₹65 crore for the development of MSME sector in the state under Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme. It was informed on the occasion that till now 10,945 people have been approved for training in various fields under the PM Vishwakarma project. Out of this, 2,754 people have already been trained Under this scheme, the trainees are given a loan of up to ₹ 1 lakh in the first phase at 5 percent interest. 36 people in the state have received loans under this scheme. 5 such beneficiaries were felicitated on the occasion by Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma and other guests.
In today’s programme apart from the Industries & Commerce Minister, Additional Director of Industries & Commerce Department Government of Tripura Swapna Debnath and many other dignitaries were present in the event.
