Nagpur, 23rd of March, 2025 : IIM Nagpur today marked the inauguration of the 2025-27 batch of its Executive MBA (Hybrid) program, designed for both the Nagpur and Pune campuses. The event featured prominent speakers and industry leaders, reflecting the Institute’s commitment to providing cutting-edge education for professionals.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Director, Personnel at WCL, delivered the keynote address. He emphasized that while the IIM legacy dates back to 1961, it is the new-generation IIMs, like IIM Nagpur, that are pushing boundaries in training and education today. Dr. Pande expressed confidence that the next two years would be a transformative, power-packed, and thoroughly practical experience for the Executive MBA cohort.
Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur, extended a warm welcome to the incoming Executive MBA cohort. Reflecting on the significance of their decision to join IIM Nagpur in its 10th year, Dr. Metri encouraged the participants to embrace their role in the Institute’s evolving legacy.
Under his leadership, IIM Nagpur has rapidly grown into a leading Institution, known for its sustainability initiatives and remarkable growth in Executive Education programs. Despite being relatively young, IIM Nagpur’s Executive Education programs have already earned a place among the top ten in the country. Dr. Metri also proudly shared that the Institute witnessed the inauguration of a 2 MW Solar Project by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, on 9 February 2025.
In the Welcome Address, Shri P. Narendra Kumar, General Manager-HR at WCL, highlighted the importance of continual upskilling in an era of rapid technological advancements and infrastructure transformation. He commended IIM Nagpur for its strong connection to the industry and its ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate world. Kumar pointed out that the inauguration of the 2025-27 Executive MBA batch is a testament to IIM Nagpur’s commitment to shaping professionals who can lead in this dynamic environment.
Professor Prashant Gupta, Dean of Faculty, Academics, and Alumni Affairs, spoke about the remarkable journey of IIM Nagpur, which has risen to prominence in just a decade. He highlighted how, in such a short period, the Institute has consistently ranked among the best in various national assessments. Recognized as the fastest-growing B-School in India, IIM Nagpur has earned a reputation for excellence in education, making it an exciting time for the 2025-27 Executive MBA batch.
Professor Alok Kumar Singh, Chairperson of the Executive MBA program, provided an overview of the program’s evolution since its inception. He welcomed the new cohort, emphasizing the program’s role in shaping the next generation of business leaders.
