Agartala, Tripura, 31st of August, 2024 : In continuation of a series of successful operations in the fight against drugs, Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Customs department seized a large amount of narcotics of 30,000 Yaba tablets which is worth Rs 4.8 cr. The incident occurred at Jogendra Nagar, Tripura on Friday. In the operation, two persons, carriers of the narcotics, were also apprehended along with the seizure of a Maruti XL-6. This was stated in a press statement issued by the Assam Rifles today.
The apprehended people were handed over to the state Police for further investigation and legal proceedings. The operation’s success underscores the fact that Assam Rifles continues to remain highly committed in its fight against drugs and illegal smuggling of contrabands.
