Agartala, Tripura, 10th of August, 2024 : Hon’ble Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma has been accorded Civic Reception by Government of Tripura at Kharang Community Hall, Mandai, Jirania on Saturday (10th August, 2024). Jishnu Dev Varma, Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura is took charge as the 4th Governor of Telangana State on July 31st, 2024. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha felicitated Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma by handing over mementos and certificates at the civic reception.
Addressing the Civic reception of Jishnu Dev Varma, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, ‘You are the son of the land of this state and the son of the royal family of Tripura. We are proud that you are the first person in this state to hold the post of constitutional Governor of a State It is a matter of great pride for the people of Tripura state. You are not only a wise politician but also a poet, writer and artist. Along with your humanitarian thoughts. Your thinking and skills have given a new direction to the overall development of the people in this state. You are the privileged child of the former chief secretary of the state prince Ramendra Kishore Dev Varma and the princess Kamal Prabha Devi. Your creative contribution in society has undoubtedly made us proud. Your strong steps towards the development of the nation’s society as well as the overall development of the state continue to guide us today. You have been working quietly behind the scenes of publicity You were a member of the Advisory Committee of the North Eastern Council from 1989 to 1993 In 1993, you took charge of the Tripura chapter of the Indian National Council for Art and Cultural, and you played an important role in the development of the art culture of the region.
“In 1993, he was elected as a member of the National Council of BJP from Tripura. Your contribution to the practice and promotion of the arts in this region has inspired us for a long time and we hope will continue to do so in the future. In the first BJP-ruled state cabinet in 2016, you assumed the post of Deputy Chief Minister and handled the portfolios of Finance, Panchayats, Rural Development and Power Science, Technology and Environment and Planning and Coordination with great skill and dedication. During this ministry of 5 years, your creative approach to administration has enriched the state administration. New plans have been formulated in terms of development. You have expanded the livelihood of rural people with various administrative reforms and transparency “Barrow village 20 project” has been successfully implemented in the state under your strong leadership. Realizing the importance of the issue, the Prime Minister also mentioned the success of the state in the nationally telecasted popular programme Man Ki Baat on October 30, 2022. Vigyan Gram, or a science village has been suspended at Badharghat, Agartala under your able leadership. Setting up of this science village is a strong step to develop science awareness and mindset among the youth community and general citizens of the state.”, Chief Minister added.
The Chief Minister also added that Your contribution in the field of sports is also significant Held the Badminton Association of India top post and served as the President of the State Branch of the Badminton Association. Politically also, Jishnu Dev Varma ‘s dexterous leadership took strong decision-making and far-sighted analytical powers to new heights. We believe that as the fourth Governor of Telangana State, you will be able to use your skills, dedication and creative intelligence to play a strong role in the overall development of the state. We believe that your vision will enrich the country and the state in addition to fulfilling the constitutional duties as the governor. Your literary creation, social awareness, deep thinking is one of the assets of our state. Today we are proud to offer you a civic welcome on behalf of the people of this state.
Hon’ble Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma said, As the Governor of Telangana, I am proud to receive a civic reception in the state. My sincere thanks to the Prime Minister for appointing the first Governor from the state. As a result of this initiative of the Prime Minister, a new way has been opened for the identity of Tripura. Currently several Padma Shris from the state have been awarded during the tenure of the central government, which must have brought glory to the state. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma also added that I will use the experience of working in Tripura state for the development of Telangana state. Besides, I will share my experience of working in Telangana state for the development of Tripura state. He said that Tripura state government is working with the objective of reaching the last person of the society with various facilities.
Hon’ble Tribal Welfare, Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture, Statistics Minister Bikash Debbarma delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
