A delicate rice rangoli bloomed at the heart of the lobby, a temporary artwork honouring nature’s vibrant colours. Nearby, a charming display of potted plants invited guests to take one home, offering a living reminder of their journey with Fairmont and its deep connection to nature. Across the space, handcrafted decor made from recycled materials like newspaper and cardboard added meaningful details, with earth symbols and creative designs reflecting the beauty of giving new life to the old.
As the evening unfolded, guests gathered for an “Earth to Table” dinner, a thoughtfully curated experience that celebrated the essence of sustainability. Each dish was prepared using ingredients grown in the property’s own herb garden, foraged from nearby landscapes, or sourced from the region in support of local farming communities. Rooted in zero-waste practices and conscious choices, the meal reflected a deeper connection to the land and a commitment to preserving it for generations to come.
Adding to the meaningful celebration was a gift of sustainable joy wherein each guest received a recycled, handmade Tote bags made with discarded linen, filled with wooden coasters, hand-crafted diaries, pencils, and seeds of flowers and vegetables. Thoughtfully selected and elegantly presented, these tokens served as gentle reminders that the most profound gifts often begin with the smallest seeds.
The day culminated with a plantation drive within the property, where guests were invited to place their hands in the soil and plant for tomorrow. It was a quiet act of connection, yet a powerful gesture of hope, a living memory rooted in earth.
