National, 10th of February, 2025 : Fairmont Jaipur recently hosted an extraordinary evening celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan with an immersive photography exhibition, ‘The Song of Light – An Analog Odyssey through Rajasthan’ by Sudhir Kasliwal. Held on February 8, 2025, this exclusive showcase offers an evocative glimpse into the bygone era of Rajasthan through a curated selection of rare and invaluable photographs.

The evening began with the custom Evening Ritual of Fairmont Jaipur with the lighting of mashal, sound of traditional horns surnai and the rhythmic beats of nagadas, highlighting royal heritage of the city, followed by the captivating photo exhibition which paid tribute to Rajasthan’s craftsmanship and traditions, showcasing its people, transport, festivals, and architectural beauty. Later the evening featured a curated walk through led by the internationally acclaimed photographer Mr. Sudhir Kasliwal who’s work the show celebrates, followed by an engaging discussion with Mr. Rajat Sethi on his artistic journey. The event concluded with the grand launch of the calendar, celebrating Rajasthan’s rich visual storytelling.
Accompanying this artistic journey, Fairmont Jaipur curated a sensory experience inspired by the flavours of Rajasthan, reimagined with a contemporary twist. Guests savoured a selection of exquisite dishes, including Laal Maas Tacos, Bajra Khichda Arancini, and Sangari Galouti, alongside indulgent desserts such as Thandai Rasmalai Panna Cotta and Gulkand Ghevar Cheesecake.

The evening was further enhanced by an exclusive collaboration with Johnnie Walker Blue Label, featuring bespoke cocktails crafted to reflect the essence of Rajasthan. Signature drinks included Rob Royal Blue, a refined blend of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, coffee sweet vermouth, and hazelnut, and Forbidden Rituals, a tribute to Rajasthan’s forgotten customs, made with Johnnie Walker Blue Label, honey, and aromatic bitters.
Designed as an intimate gathering for Jaipur’s esteemed guests and distinguished high-net-worth individuals, the event was graced by prominent personalities, including Maharaja Shri Narendra Singh Ji, Tripti Pandey, Mita Kapur, Rajyashree Kumari Ji and Kamla Poddar. About the Photographer/Artist
Sudhir Kasliwal is a sixth generation- decade jeweller, and an internationally acclaimed photographer based out of Jaipur. His oeuvre includes the most invaluable documentation of the life and people of Rajasthan spanning sixty years. He sits at the helm of the Gem Palace, a heritage jewellery house in Jaipur. Sudhir’s photographs have received international recognition by organisations and people of repute, from UNESCO to former President of the United States Bill Clinton. His works have appeared regularly in leading journals the world over and have been exhibited in multiple cities including Paris, Tel Aviv, Thimphu, Rome and Mexico City besides Delhi and Mumbai.
