Closing Ceremony Of State Level Capacity Building On Primary Mental Health Care For CHOs.

Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of August 2024 : With the initiative of Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura State level Capacity Building on Mental Health Care for Community Health Officers (CHOs)  a five-day training camp organized at Pragna Bhawan, Agartala. The closing ceremony of the training camp was held today (2nd August, 2024). The State level Capacity Building on Mental Health Care for CHOs Training was started on July 29, 2024. In the presence of many dignitaries Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department Kiran Gitte inaugurated the closing ceremony by lighting the lamp.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the State Level Capacity Building on the Primary Mental Health Care For CHOs Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department Kiran Gitte said, Community Health Officers of Tripura are ahead in terms of quality. They have been providing all the health services at the grass root level with devotion. In the camp, community health officers were trained online on various topics related to mental health by Prof. (Dr) Pratima Murthy, Director, NIMHANS, Bangalore, Prof. Nabin Kumar C, Head, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) Community Psychiatric Unit. The main objectives of this training program are to increase awareness about mental health, to remove misconceptions about mental health problems, to create an environment to talk about mental health problems, to provide mental health services, to provide research and training on mental health.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries of the programme there were Director of Tripura Health Services Dr. Sanjib Debbarma, National Health Mission Director Rajib Datta, Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine Department Director Dr. Anjan Das, Head of the Department of Modern Psychiatric Hospital Dr. Swapan Chandra Barman, Member Secretary of the State Health and Family Welfare Association Dr. Nupur Debbarma, and State Program Officer of NMHP Dr. Udayan Majumdar and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
