Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha Lays Foundation Stone of Construction of Civil Hospital.

Agartala, Tripura, 3rd of April 2025 : With the initiative of Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, Laying Foundation Stone ceremony of Civil Hospital organized at Jackson Gate, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (3rd April, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha laid the  Foundation Stone of Construction of Civil Hospital.

Addressing the Laying Foundation Stone ceremony of Construction of Civil Hospital Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that The present government is working with great importance to improve the health infrastructure and services of the state. The government is taking various new initiatives to provide better health services to the citizens. Urban Community Health Center (Agartala Civil Hospital) has a 50-bed facility spread over an area of ​​2,312 square meters.

Interacted with media the Chief Minister said that the work of the hospital will be completed within the next 6 months. It is being maintained by the Agartala Municipal Corporation. Being located in the heart of Agartala city, this hospital will provide health services to the general public, businessmen, people coming to Agartala from the suburbs and far-flung areas for various purposes, and workers. As a result, the pressure of patients at the nearby IGM Hospital will be reduced to a great extent.

The Chief minister said that there are such hospitals run by the Municipal Corporation in other big cities of the country, especially Mumbai. Therefore, initiatives have been taken to set up a hospital run by the Municipal Corporation in Agartala as well. This hospital will have OPD services from 8 am to 8 pm. There will be facilities to avail services from departments like medicine, obstetrics, dentistry etc. The Chief Minister expressed hope that this hospital will create employment opportunities in the Junction Gate area and small businessmen will also benefit.

The Chief Minister also added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the country forward in an overall manner. The current government of the state is also working under the guidance of the Prime Minister. Recently, With the initiative of Health Welfare Department Government of Tripura, Rogi Kalyan Samity, AGMC & GBP Hospital and Rotary Club, Agartala lunch has been started at GB Hospital for the family members of patients for Rs 10 every day. In this year’s budget, so that the family members of patients coming to Agartala from far away for treatment can stay overnight and eat food at a low cost, a provision has been made for setting up Bharat Mata Canteen and Night Shelter.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries participants there were  Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Manika Das Datta, Municipal Commissioner, Agartala Municipal Corporation, Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the ceremony.
