Agartala, Tripura, 23rd of November, 2024 : Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha inaugurated the Final match of Atal Smrti Football Knockout Tournament at Motinagar School Ground, Kamalasagar, Sepahijala District on Saturday (23rd November, 2024).
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Final match of Atal Smrti Football Knockout Tournament 2024, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, the attraction of sports in rural areas is no less than in cities. Therefore, the Government has taken the initiative to develop sports infrastructure in the rural areas of the state along with urban areas. Synthetic turf, Synthetic track and AstroTurf have been built to develop sports talent. The Chief Minister also added at the event that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the initiative to make the youth skilled to build a developed India. Playgrounds also play an important role in making the youth skilled. The Central Government has taken up projects like Khelo India for the development of sports. The State Government has also taken up various projects for the development of sports talent.
Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Labour Minister Tinku Roy, Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das, MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, Vice Chairman of Bishalgarh Panchayat Samati Chanda Debbarma , Chairman of TIDC Nabadal Banik, Sepahijala Zilla Parishad member Gauranga Bhowmik and many other dignitaries were present in the programme. Social Activist Subir Chowdhury delivered the welcome speech on behalf of the organizing committee.
