Agartala, Tripura, 15th of October, 2024 : With the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of Tripura organized Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Ujjayanta Palace premises, Agartala, Tripura on Monday (14th October, 2024).
Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has inaugurated Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Ujjayanta Palace premises, Agartala, Tripura.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that Unity and harmony between the people of the State is being strengthened around Durgotsava. The State Government is also working towards the formation of ‘Ek Tripura Shrestha Tripura’ by fostering this bond of harmony among the nations.
The Chief Minister also added that even during the royal period of Tripura, a well-decorated procession was taken out in front of the Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ School, Ujjayanta Palace premises, Agartala, on the occasion of the Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman). Keeping this tradition in mind, it has been decided to organize Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) ceremony in front of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ School, Ujjayanta Palace premises, Agartala, this year. Various clubs in the city were invited to participate in the Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) ceremony. In order to make the Maayer Gaman a success, various arrangements have been made here in an orderly manner. The Chief Minister said that Dashami Ghat has been modernized with the initiative of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC). As a result, idol worship is also possible in a very orderly manner. The Chief Minister thanked all levels of workers including Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC).
A large number of people have participated the colourful procession for immersion of idols with great enthusiasm and excitement.
Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Minister for Transport, Tourism, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Sushanta Chowdhury, Hon’ble Tribal Welfare, Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture, Statistics Minister Bikash Debbarma, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Manika Das Datta, Municipal Commissioner of AMC Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav, Director of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, State Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, Vice Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty and dignitaries were present in the Goddess Durga Carnival programme.
