BSF SEIZES NARCOTICS & CONTRABANDS WORTH RS 19.68 LAKHS
BSF, besides making endeavors to curb various kinds of trans-border crimes on Indo-Bangladesh International border, is also continuously conducting ‘Anti-Smuggling Drives’ in close co-ordination with sister Law Enforcement Agencies deployed in the State of Tripura.
In one such operation, acting on specific intelligence input, BSF Intelligence Team Panisagar along with police party of Police Station Panisagar conducted a joint operation on intervening night of 24-25June 2021andseized 51 Nos Goats (Male) worth Rs. 2,50,000/- loaded on Eicher PRO Commercial vehicle bearing Regt No. WB 17 4974 plying on NH-08from Churaibari side and moving towards Agartala and also apprehended the Truck driver and his helper namely MD Wasim S/o MD Nasim R/o 16/H/1, Canal West Road, Raja Ram Mohan Sarani, PS- Narkel Danga, Kolkata, West Bengal and Edu Khan S/o Mustaq Khan R/o 35/1/B, Canal West Road, Raja Ram Mohan Sarani, PS- Narkel Danga, Kolkata, West Bengal. Total combined value of the seizure is aroundRs.14,00,000/-.
Besides, the vigilant BSF troops of 20 / 31 / 74 / 80 / 120 / 133 / 191 Battalions BSF also succeeded in seizure of80 Kgs Ganja and various other contraband items having collective value of Rs. 5,68,460/- in different operations on the same date/night.
