BSF SEIZED NARCOTICS & CONTRABAND WORTH 10.20 LAKHS.

In the series of Special Operations to counter the trans-border smuggling activities in State of Tripura, BSF has succeeded in seizing 900 Nos Yaba Tablets, 65.5 Kgs Ganja, 69 Bottles Phensedyl / Eskuf Syrup, 11 Bottles Liquor& 12 Cattle along with other contraband items having combined value of Rs. 10,20,526/- besides, apprehended 02 suspected OGWs of NLFT during joint operation with Police in intervening night of 07/08 Sept 2021.

On 07th Sept 2021, based on specific intelligence input, BSF troops of BOP Karangichera, Ex-119 Bn BSF (Teliamura)carried out a joint search operation with local police in Indian bordering Village-Kamlabagan and Bidyabil, PS-Champahour Distt- Khowai. During the joint operation, party apprehended one suspect namely Manoj Debbarma S/o Bisharad Debbarma R/o Village- Kamla Bagan, PS- Champahour, Distt- Khowai along with 01 Country Made Wooden Pistol (with firing mechanism) & 05 Nos old fired 7.62 mm Bullets. In follow-up action, party also apprehended another suspect namely Abhijit Debbarma S/o Taroni Debbarma, Ex- NLFT surrendered insurgent (Year- 2004).Both apprehended suspects were handed over to PS- Champahour for further course of action.

In another operation, on specific input, vigilant BSF troops of 130 Bn BSF Gokulnagar foiled the trans-border smuggling bid and seized 900 Nos Yaba tablets worth Rs. 4,50,000/- & 25 Btls Phensedyl Syrup valued Rs. 4,666/-. The seized narcotics are being handed over to PS- P R Bari, Sub Div- Belonia, Distt- South Tripura.

In one more operation, the BSF troops of BOP Batadola, Ex-150 Bn BSF (Gokulnagar) seized 28packets containing*Ganja – 56 Kgs worth Rs. 2,80,000/-. The seized Ganja is being handed over to PS- Sonamura, Sub Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala.

Besides above, Vigilant BSF troops deployed on the other parts of the Tripura Frontier are also regularly carrying out operations against the trans-border smugglers and seizing various contraband items.
