BSF Tripura, besides safeguarding the extreme territorial limits of the Nation has also been regularly conducting special drives to counter Inter-State and trans-border Narcotics smuggling, resultantly succeeding in neutralizing the nefarious designs of Narcotics syndicates. In the series of such operations in the intervening night of 19/20 Nov 2021, BSF troops foiled various smuggling bids & successfully seized 7968 Btls of Phensedyl, 04 Kgs Ganja and rescued 09 Cattle heads besides other contraband items having a combined value of Rs. 30,93,070/-.
In one such operation on 19th Nov 2021, acting on specific intelligence input shared by Custom Sonamura, BSF troops of Border Out Post Dipak, Ex-133 Bn BSF Gokulnagar in a joint operation with officials of Customs Sonamura& Police PS- Sonamura carried out a special search in the general area of Village Urmai under PS- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala and successfully seized 75 Nos cartons containing “7500 btls Phensedyl valued at Rs. 13,99,875/-” which were clandestinely hidden in elephant grass in Village Urmai. The seized item was handed over to Customs Sonamura on the spot for further course of action. In other operations, BSF troops of Ex- 150 Bn BSF also seized 468 Btls of Phensedyl, value Rs. 71,539/-.
Besides above, in still another operation, on 19th Nov 2021, acting on specific inputs regarding smuggling of contraband items, BSF troops of Border Out Post Golachipa, Ex-150 Bn BSF Gokulnagar laid an ambush and seized Ladies Suit Cloths 195 No’s Valuedat Rs 2.34,000/-, Lehenga (PoojaSitafal) 16 nos valuedat Rs. 1,92,000/- , Lehenga (Party Girl) 12 nos valued atRs 1,80,000/- and Lehenga 15 no’s valuedatRs 1,20,000/ -, total worth Rs. 7,26,000/-. The seized items are being handed over to custom Sonamura, Sub Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala, Tripura
BSF troops deployed on the extreme Frontiers of the Country in Tripura are effectively manning the International Border and seizing various contraband items on regular basis from the bordering areas.
