BSF SEIZED NARCOTICS & BANGLADESH CURRENCY.
BSF troops deployed on the Indo-Bangladesh International Border in the State of Tripura are doing persistent endeavors to eradicate the menace of trans-border crimes on Indo-Bangladesh Border. On 27thJune 2021, troops of BSF Tripura Frontier seized 1,000 Nos Yaba Tablets, 15 Kgs Ganja and other contraband items having combined value of Rs. 5,79,940/- along with Bangladesh Currency 2,00,000/- Taka.
In one such operation based on specific intelligence input, the troops of Border OutPost Matinagar, 74 Bn BSF in area under Police Station- Sonamura, Sub Division- Sonamura, District- Sepahijala successfully seized 1,000 Nos Yaba Tablets in the evening hours of 27th June 2021.The above consignment of Yaba tablets was clandestinely hidden in an abandoned house near IBB Fence of BOP Matinagar.
Similarly, in the intervening night of 27/28 June 2021, based on a specific intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Out Post Kamthana, 74 Bn BSF in area under Police Station- Madhupur, Sub Division- Bishalgarh, District- Sepahijala successfully seized Bangladeshi Currency – 2,00,000/-Taka during special ambush by foiling the smuggling bid attempted from Bangladesh side.
Besides above, Vigilant BSF troops deployed on the other parts of the Tripura Frontier are regularly carrying out operations against the trans-border smugglers and seizing various contraband items.
