BSF Tripura is fully committed to curb the smuggling activities in bordering areas of Tripura State by regularly conducting ‘Special Operations’ on Indo-Bangladesh International Border. In series of such Operations, on intervening night of 27/28July 2021, BSF troops seized 140 Kgs Ganja, 22 Nos Cattle, 22 Nos Redmi Note Mobile Phones and other contraband items, having combined value of Rs 28,06,700/- and also apprehended 01 Bangladeshi National.
On 27 July 2021 (Evening), based on a specific intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Out Post- Lankamura (120 Bn BSF) in a joint operation with Customs Agartala recovered ‘140 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 21,00,000/-’, which was clandestinely hidden in the dense bushy area near Village- Binpara (Lankamura), PS- West Agartala, Distt- West Tripura. The seized Ganja was handed over to Customs Agartala on the spot for further course of legal action.
On same day, BSF troops of Border Out Post Salpokar (133 Bn BSF) apprehended one Bangladeshi National namely Jahid S/o MdAwal Molla R/o Vill& PO- Iluhar, PS- Banaripara, Distt- Barisal (Bangladesh), who illegally infiltrated into Indian Territory. The above apprehended person along with his personal belongings has been handed over to Police Station- Jatrapur, Sub Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala for further legal action.
In another Operation, in intervening night of 27/28 July 2021, acting on a specific intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Out Post Salpokar (133 Bn BSF)in a joint operation with Customs Agartala seized ‘22 Nos Redmi Mobile Phones worth Rs. 4,10,978/-’.The seized mobile shave been handed over to Customs Agartala on the spot for further course of legal action.
Vigilant troops of BSF Tripura deployed on the extreme frontiers are effectively safeguarding the International Border and regularly seizing contraband goods by foiling trans-border smuggling bids.
