BSF troops deployed on Indo-Bangladesh International border in the State of Tripura besides safeguarding the extreme territorial limits of the Nation are also doing relentless endeavors in containing trans-border crimes particularly smuggling of Narcotics and Contraband items. On intervening night of 06/07 July 2021, troops of BSF Tripura successfully seized 127 Kgs Ganja, 06 Cattle and other contraband having combined value of Rs. 7,09,600/-.
In one such operation, acting on specific intelligence input, troops of Border Out Post Belchera, 80 Bn BSF successfully seized 82 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 4,10,000/-on 07th July 2021.The seized Ganja has been handed over to Police Station- Khowai, Sub Division- Khowai, District- Khowai, Tripura for further course of legal action.
In another Operation, during the wee hours of 07th July 2021, based on precise intelligence input, troops of Border Out Post Kennedy, 31 Bn BSF recovered 30 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 1,50,000/-, which was clandestinely stocked underneath the ground in Rubber Bagan area near Indian Village Rajnagar, Police Station- Manubazar, District- South Tripura. The seized Ganja has been handed over to Police for further course of legal action.
Besides above, in the intervening night of 06/07 July 2021, troops of Border Out Post Srimantapur,133 Bn BSF successfully seized11 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 55,000/-. The seized Ganja has beenhanded over to Police Station- Sonamura, Sub Division- Sonamura, District- Sepahijala, Tripura.
In addition to above, BSF Tripura troops also seized 06 Cattle and other contraband items having combined value of Rs. 94,600/- during different operation on Indo-Bangladesh Border on the same night.
