BSF Tripura has been religiously pursuing its commitment to contribute in making “Tripura – A Drug Free State” by regularly conducting ‘Anti-Narcotics Smuggling Drives’ independently as well as in close association with other Sister Agencies deployed in the State.
On 26thOct 2021, BSF Intelligence Team of Teliamura along with the troops of 39 Bn BSF conducted a joint operation with DRI Agartala. During the operation, party intercepted a 18 Wheelers TATA LPS 4018 Truck (NL 01 K 8682) plying towards Guwahati side from Agartala on NH-8 & successfully recovered huge consignment of “Dry Ganja weighing 226.04 Kgs worth Rs. 63,90,000/-” (including Mode of conveyance), which was clandestinely hidden in the false cavity of above truck and also apprehended two Indian Nationals namely Mukesh Mishra (38 Yrs) S/o Gajadhar Mishra R/o Village- Kakarahat, Anchal-Jalalpur, District- Saran (Chapra), Bihar-841412 &Altaf Raja (19 Yrs) S/o Ajijul Haq R/o Village- Tole Ganjua, Fatehpur chain, District- Saran (Chapra) Bihar-841202, suspected to be involved in the crime. The apprehended persons along with seized Ganja &Truck were handed over to DRI Agartala on the spot for further legal action.
Besides above, vigilant troops of BSF Tripura rescued 08 Cattle and also seized 64 Kgs Ganja, 180 Bottles of Phensedyl / Eskuf Syrup along with other contraband items having collective value of Rs. 4,94,533/- in different operations on Indo-Bangladesh International Borders in intervening night of 25/26 Oct 2021.
BSF Tripura has been regularly giving big jolts to the trans-border Smugglers particularly Narcotics / drugs syndicates by conducting such special drives to counter the menace of Narcotics / drugs.
