Agartala, Tripura, 1st December, 2024 : With the initiative of Alok Sangha has been conducted Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with the HDFC Bank at Alok Sangha, Ramnagar, Agartala, Tripura on Sunday (1st December, 2024). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the Blood Donation Camp by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the Blood Donation Camp Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, People are for people. It has been proven time and again through voluntary blood donation. We always donate in various ways, but among all donations, blood donation is the best donation. He said, a healthy strong man can donate blood every three months and women every four months. In the case of men, there is usually about 26 milliliters of donated blood per kilogram and in women, about 16 milliliters of donated blood per kilogram. So, donating 350 milliliters of blood is only a small part of the body’s donated blood. When blood is donated, new blood is produced in the body. Besides, donating blood is also beneficial for the body. On the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of everyone being alert and aware about drugs and AIDS.
Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, Social activist Sanjay Saha, Tapas Dey and many other dignitaries were remained present in the programme. Ashish Pal president of Alok Sangha delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. The Chief Minister met the blood donors at the event and encouraged them.
