Agartala, Tripura, 27th of March 2025 : In order to conserve groundwater, rainwater harvesting by constructing reservoirs and other water storage structures in various areas in the state, aiming to capture and store rainwater for later use. The state’s Drinking Water and Sanitation Department is providing drinking and usable water to the public by setting up innovative projects based on all these stored reservoirs.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha gave this information in a written reply to a question by MLA Ram Pada Jamatia in the Assembly Budget Session 2025-26 on the 5th day at Tripura Legislative Assembly, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (27th March, 2025). The Chief Minister said that a total of 7 innovative projects have been implemented so far focusing on various reservoirs by conserving rainwater. Besides, 3 projects are awaiting launch and work on 2 projects is in progress.
