Assembly Budget Session 2023-24 Has Started.

Assembly Budget session 2023-24 has started on Friday (7th July, 2023). In the first half of the Assembly Session, a memorial service was held to commemorate the demise of former Tripura Assembly member and former minister Bidhu Bhusan Malakar, former MLA Amal Mallik and Tripura’s first Padma Shri Awardee and eminent administrator IAS officer Himangshu Mohan Chowdhury, and MLAs observed two minutes of silence to pay their respects to the memory.

Hon’ble  Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen in the condolence proposal, said, “It is with deep sorrow that I inform this Legislative Assembly that former member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and former Minister Bidhu Bhusan Malakar passed away due to a heart attack on May 24 at Halahali, Kamalpur sub-division. At the time of his death, he left behind a wife, a son and two daughters. He was 73 years old at the time of his death.

The Speaker said that it is with deep sorrow that I inform this Legislative Assembly that Amal Mallik, a former member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, suddenly fell ill at his home in Belonia on June 13 and was taken to a local hospital. After failing all the efforts of the doctors, he died due to heart attack around 4:30 pm. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter who are well-wishers. He was 72 years old at the time of death.

The Speaker said, it is with deep sadness that I am informing this Legislative Assembly that first Padma Shri awardee, eminent administrator IAS officer Himangshu Mohan Chowdhury breathed his last on April 25 in a private hospital in Agartala after undergoing treatment for a long time due to old age. He was 83 years old at the time of death. At the time of his death, he is survived by two daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
