Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of April 2025 : A Reliance delegation led by North Eastern Business Chief Awadhesh Singh visited Agartala on March 22 and met with senior officials of the State Government. The meeting discussed the possibility of Reliance’s investment in Tripura. This was announced by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha in the Assembly Budget Session 2025-26 on the 7th day at Tripura Legislative Assembly, Agartala, Tripura on Tuesday (1st April, 2025) following a public interest notice brought by MLA Kalyani Saha Roy during the reference period.

“The meeting identified some key sectors where Reliance Group can play a significant role in the development of the State by utilizing the natural resources of Tripura. These sectors include natural gas, bamboo, rubber, agricultural and horticultural products, medicinal plants, etc. The meeting also mentioned the country’s third international internet gateway and the large number of technically skilled workers in the State. Reliance Jio has been asked to expand its services in the field of IT and ITES on favorable terms by utilizing the Tripura Data Centre Policy, 2021. Reliance Jio has also been asked to set up a BPO call centre in Agartala.”, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha added.
The Chief Minister also added that the State Government has invited Reliance Jio to sign an agreement with the Department of Information Technology to set up an Innovation and Incubation Park in the state. He said that Reliance Industries, being one of the world’s leading energy companies, has been invited to participate in the exploration and production of about 560 MMT of hydrocarbon resources in the State. Reliance has also been encouraged to set up a urea fertilizer manufacturing unit in Tripura. In the meeting with the Reliance delegation, the state government has also invited Reliance to invest in ethanol production from bamboo resources, eco-tourism and wildlife conservation, rubber wood processing, agriculture and horticulture products, handlooms and handicrafts, etc. The Chief Minister expressed the hope that a delegation of appropriate officials of the Reliance Group will come to the state to implement these investment opportunities.
