Agartala, Tripura, 27th of March 2025 : In Agartala Municipal Corporation areas, 67 percent of the households have been provided with drinking water connection through pipeline. This information was given by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha in a written reply to a question by MLA Gopal Chandra Roy in the Assembly Budget Session 2025-26 on the 5th day at Tripura Legislative Assembly, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (27th March, 2025). The Chief Minister said that presently the work of The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0, is progressing in Agartala Municipal Corporation areas. The target has been set to provide drinking water connection to another 13 percent households through this project.

Tripura Jal Board is working on two projects to provide drinking water connection to the remaining 20 percent households. Out of these two projects, tenders have been invited for setting up a ground water treatment plant with a capacity of 5.50 million liters per day. In addition, work is underway to invite tenders for setting up a surface water treatment plant with a capacity of 6.42 million liters per day.
