BSF Troops deployed on Indo-Bangladesh International Border in Tripura are dedicatedly & sincerely discharging their duties against the trans-border smugglers / criminals / miscreants operating in the region. During execution of these duties, the delinquents & their associates are continuously posing challenges for BSF.
In one of such incident, on 06th May 2021, BSF troops of Border Out Post Bamutia, Ex- 120 Bn BSF conducted a joint operation near International Border along with the Police team of Police Out Post Bamutia, PS- Lafunga, West Tripura, in which some suspected miscreants were found to be involved in smuggling of narcotic items. During this surprise raid on these miscreants, one miscreant namely Sujoy Namo @ Chiranjit Namo S/o Siklal Namo R/o Village- Rangotia, PO- Bamutia, PS- Lafunga, Dist- West Tripura was apprehended with 12 Kgs Ganja, whereas two others of his associates namely Ashish S/o Hari Shill and Sukhanto, both resident of Khadim Tila Rangotia managed to escape from the spot. The two suspects, who ran away from the spot were identified by the apprehended miscreant namely Sujoy Namo. On this basis, necessary follow-up action in registration & investigation of the criminal case under NDPS Act is continuing vide No. 2021LFG028, dated 07thMay 2021.
On 12th May 2021, on getting reliable information, the Coy Commander of Border Out Post Bamutia along with BSF Party went to verify the whereabouts of absconding suspect namely Ashish in the above case. However, during verification, local miscreants including some lady members surrounded BSF team and abused & assaulted them and prevented them from discharging their lawful duties. Moreover, these miscreants also created a situation in which the suspect namely Ashish involved in above case of seizure of 12 Kgs Ganja absconded from the spot. On getting information, the local police reached the spot and managed in controlling the situation.
On the above incident, BSF Coy Commander of Border Out Post Bamutia, 120 Bn BSF has lodged a proper FIR at local Police Station on 12 May 2021, for taking necessary legal action.
