Agartala, Tripura, 25th of October, 2024 : Assam Rifles organised a Polio Drop Campaign on the occasion of World Polio Awareness Day at Radhanagar, Tripura on Friday (24th October 2024).
The campaign aimed to provide polio vaccination to children in the community, while also raising awareness about the importance of vaccination in preventing this debilitating disease. The event featured educational sessions, outreach activities, and direct administration of polio drops, a statement from Assam Rifles said.
A total of 35 children were vaccinated by a team of two doctors and six medical staff who also engaged with families to educate them on the significance of immunization and answer any questions regarding polio prevention. The campaign underscores the importance of community participation in achieving a polio-free world.
