Khowai, 12th of July, 2024 : Allegedly, a senior police officer of Ambassa police physically assaulted a youth Subir Dey of Khowai. His resident East Ganki area under Khowai District. A delegation of Tripura Human Rights Organization Khowai District Committee visits to enquire about the health of youth at Khowai District Hospital on Friday (12th July, 2024). In the delegation there were Tripura Human Rights Organization Khowai district committee Secretary Ashish Mukherjee, District President Alak Debbarma, Vice President Sagar Bhattacharya, member Sumanta Dey.
According to the details of the incident, a message came to Subir’s house from Ambassa through Khowai police station on Tuesday. He should go to meet at Ambassa police station. But on that day Subir’s house was worshiping Bipattarini festival. He could not go on Tuesday and rushed to Ambassa police station on Wednesday. After going there, he was taken to Ambassa Sub-division Police Station. There he was interrogated by the senior police officer. He was beaten and seriously injured inside the office for not telling anything during the interrogation. According to the police, Subir is involved in the trafficking of women. So he has been called here for questioning. Meanwhile, the day after the incident, the seriously injured Subir was released by the Ambassa Police Station.
Later his mother rescued him injured and brought him to Khowai and taken to Khowai District Hospital for treatment. But the doctor on duty found his injuries serious and advised him to be admitted to hospital. At present, Subir is under treatment at Khowai District Hospital. There has been a lot of excitement among the people of Khowai over the incident.
