Agriculture Based Interventions Of TRESP Started Across 23 Blocks.

Agartala, Tripura, 5th of April 2025 : Agriculture based activities promotion and strengthening has been increased soon after joining of Subhasis Das, Project Director, TRESP. Due to his repeated encouragement and interventions for expediting components of TRESP, agriculture based training is ongoing at different levels .

The Agriculture Department, Government of Tripura is one of the 7 project Implementation Units (PIUs) of Tripura Rural Economic Growth &Service Delivery Project. The department of Agriculture has conducted an Awareness cum orientation programme for krishi Sakhi at Bhagat Singh Yuva Awas.

The programme was conducted under the auspices of the TRESP Project .A total of 62 Krishi Sakhis attended the training programme being organized for a day. For creation of block level master trainers ,the Agriculture department has implemented 5 days training at Bhagat Singh Yuva awas.In this batch ,42 identified master trainers under the agri-allied sector have been developed. To strengthen the project staff of block and district project management units linked with the agriculture sector, the Agriculture and farmers welfare department has trained 18 nos.district managers and cluster coordinators for 3 days on agricultural aspects pertaining to world bank funded TRESP and in subsequent batch ,a total of 26 cluster coordinator & district managers were trained.

In addition ,TRESP – PIU Agriculture has convened one day state level orientation on agricultural intervention under TRESP through which a total of 28 project stakeholders have been sensitized .These training programmes have a good reflection on field level performance of the TRESP project staff .Currently agriculture dept .and their Technical Support Agency AFC supports the field team for business plan preparation for agri producer groups that may result in increased funding to Agriculture based producer groups under world bank funded TRESP Project .
