Agartala Government Medical College Celebrated 20th Foundation Day.

Agartala, Tripura, 1st of August, 2024 : With the initiative of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) celebrated 20th Foundation day at KLS Auditorium, AGMC, Agartala on Thursday (1st August, 2024).

Addressing the AGMC & GBP Hospital celebration ceremony of 20th Foundation day Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the present Government of the State is working to provide better health services to the people of the State. For this purpose, priority has been given to the expansion of health services and development of infrastructure in the State. The Chief Minister said that today is the 20th foundation day of Agartala Government Medical College. All those who have contributed in establishing this college need to be respected. The success of this college depends on the students. The students of the State as well as the students of this college are not less talented in any part. The infrastructure of this college is in no way inferior to the medical colleges of other States of the country. Students should enhance the quality of this college through their studies and service.

“More than 1,100 students have passed MBBS from this college and 300 PG students passed out. Who are working with repute in States and outside States.The people of the State could never have thought that kidney transplant would be possible in the State. But this success has come during this Government. The State Government is working towards building a medical hub in Tripura. A multi-pronged plan has been adopted to improve the quality of health services.” the Chief Minister added.

Vice Principal of Agartala Government Medical College  Dr. Tapan Majumdar, delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Kiran Gitte, Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department, Principal of Agartala Government Medical College Dr. Anup Kumar Saha also spoke on the occasion.

Students of the college assembled in the venue and took participation in this event with great enthusiasm.  Amidst the distinguished dignitaries of the programme there were Dr. Brahmita Kaur, acting secretary to the Health department, Dr. Sanjib Debbarma, Director to the Health department, Dr. Anjan Das, Director to the Health, Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine department, Dr. H. P. Sharma, Director to Medical Education, and Rajib Dutta, Managing Director of the NHM, Tripura, officials and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
