Mumbai, 21st of December, 2024 : When the teaser and trailer of Marco launched, it created a resounding buzz among audiences. Promoted as the most violent film ever made in Indian cinema, the teaser itself set the tone for the movie’s intensity, showcasing a blend of raw violence and stylish filmmaking.

Breaking regional boundaries, the makers also released the teaser in Hindi, which garnered widespread appreciation and significant views along with positive comments online.

Directed by Haneef Adeni and produced under the Cubes Entertainments banner by Shareef Muhammed, MARCO hit theaters on December 20, 2024, to an extraordinary reception.

On its first day worldwide, the film amassed an impressive ₹10.8 crore at the worldwide box office, marking one of the highest opening records for a Malayalam film.

This total includes ₹4.21 crore from its Malayalam debut in India Box Office. The film is reportedly doing good business showcasing its massive appeal among Hindi audiences.

Critics have lauded the film for its gripping execution and Unni Mukundan’s magnetic presence. One journalist aptly remarked, “Marco is the most violent movie ever made in Malayalam. Unni Mukundan’s swag and stylish filmmaking are the takeaways of the movie with a predictable story.”

Sharing his thoughts on the film’s success, Director Haneef Adeni stated, “Marco is a project very close to my heart. It’s not just about the violence—it’s about the style, the emotions, and the depth of the characters. I am thrilled to see the audience resonate with the story and the performances.
The Hindi release is equally special, as it’s our effort to take Malayalam cinema to a broader audience.”

Marco, a spin-off of the 2019 film Mikhael, brings together a stellar cast including Unni Mukundan, Yukti Thareja, Siddique, Jagadish, Anson Paul, and Rahul Dev. The movie’s technical brilliance is evident, with music composed by Ravi Basrur, cinematography by Chandru Selvaraj, and editing by Shameer Muhammed.

The film’s violence-heavy narrative, combined with its unique style, is expected to leave a lasting impression not only in the Malayalam industry but also in the Hindi cinema market. With Marco, the makers have successfully bridged regional cinema and pan-Indian appeal, setting a new benchmark for Malayalam films in the national arena.

Marco is more than just a movie; it’s a cinematic experience poised to make a long-term impact on the box office and redefine the standards of action thrillers in Indian cinema.
