Sabroom, Tripura, 15th of November, 2024 : With the initiative of 40 Sabroom Mandal 150th Birth Anniversary celebration of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas at old town hall, Sabroom on Friday (15th November, 2024).
Birsa Munda was born on 15th November, 1875 and tribal independence activist, and folk hero who belonged to the Munda tribe. He spearheaded a tribal religious millenarian movement that arose in the Bengal Presidency (now Jharkhand) in the late 19th century, during the British Raj, thereby making him an important figure in the history of the Indian independence movement.
40 Sabroom Mandal also organized colorful rally today to mark Janjatiya Gaurav Divas. The rally was start from Sabroom fair ground and passes through various routes and back to Sabroom town hall an ended. Students, members of different social organization & others and many other dignitaries were participated in the rally. On this auspicious occasion Artists performed their traditional cultural programs likes dance, song etc. to beautify the ceremony. Addressing the programme participants, the present guests discussed various aspects of Lord Birsa Munda’s life.
Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were 40 Sabrum Mandal Janjati Morcha President Bappiraj Tripura, Janjati Morcha South District President Niranjan Tripura, Pradesh Janjati Morcha Secretary Sulta Mog, Sabrum Mandal President Jiten Tripura, Tapas Lodh and many others remained present in the programme.
