Governor Of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu Visits KVK, Salema.

Agartala, Tripura, 29th of October, 2024 : Hon’ble Governor of Tripura  Indrasena Reddy Nallu today visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Salema in Kamalpur sub-division under Dhalai district.

During the visit, the Governor interacted with the agricultural scientists and farmers as well. On the occasion several stalls were put up in the KVK displaying various agricultural and agri-based products produced and made by the self-help groups and the state rural livelihood mission (SRLM). The Governor inaugurated these stalls and later interacted with the members of the self-help groups. The Governor also distributed seeds of various crops to the farmers.

On the occasion, Governor Shri Reddy Nallu said that Dhalai is an aspirational district. To take the backward districts of the country forward, a comprehensive development initiative called ‘Aspirational District program has been introduced by the central government in the line of vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Toeing the line of the initiative, regular monitoring of all kinds of services such as health, electricity, education and drinking water in such districts is being done. Since Dhalai is an agricultural district, the Governor mentioned, it is essential to work together with the KVK for boosting development in economic activities in the rural areas.

Governor said that the work of the KVK is closely related to the upliftment of the lives and livelihoods of the rural people. The KVK provides training in agricultural work, horticulture and also veterinary like duckary, poultry and pig farming. The scientists of the KVK are engaged in activities like research and demonstration to the end of improving agriculture and increasing productivity through the supply of high-quality and yielding varieties of seeds.

In the program, Smt Swapna Das Paul, MLA, Saju Vahid A, District Magistrate, Avinash Rai, Police Superintendent and the Joint Secretary to the Governor Shri Ratan Bhowmik along with the scientists and officials were present.
