Agartala, Tripura, 26th of October, 2024 : On 26th October 2024 at about 0830 hrs BSF Mobile Check Post ( MCP) laid near Agartala Railway Station detained 09 persons on suspicion. On spot questioning apprehended persons revealed their identity as Bangladeshi nationals . Further it was revealed that the apprehended Bangladeshi nationals were just released on bail and were planning to move to Kolkata for permanent settlement in India.
In a separate operation BSF troops of Belonia under South Tripura District detained 06 persons including 02 child while the group was trying to enter Indian territory through the unfenced and riverine gap of Muhuri river. On questioning the identity of apprehended person were established as 03 Bangladeshi national ( including 01 child) resident of District Chadpur, Bangladesh and 03 Indian national ( including 01 child) resident of South Tripura District .
BSF has stepped up domination and operation along the border and in hinterland to prevent infiltration/ exfiltration and trans-border crime.
