Agartala, Tripura, 12th of October 2024 : Today is Vijayadashami and Dussehra Festival of Sharadiya Durgotsab. With the initiative of ONGC workers, Ram Leela and Ravan Dahan were organized in the evening at ONGC’s Kendriya Vidyalaya ground in Arundhati Nagar, Agartala on Saturday (12th October, 2024). Chief Secretary J.K Sinha was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Address as the Chief guest on the occasion, Chief Secretary JK Sinha said that Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra is the victory of good over evil. This festival symbolizes the victory of light over darkness. Ravan Dahan ceremony is also performed on this day. Ravan of Ramayana was wise and saintly. But his pride led him to destruction. Sri Sinha said, Ram Leela shows us the path of truth and justice. The Chief Secretary mentioned the cultural activities of Tripura. Krishna Kumar, Asset. Manager of ONGC Tripura Assets, addressing highlighted the traditional concept of Ram Leela and Ravan Dahan and its significance. Artistes from the ONGC family staged the Ram Leela.
West Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Dr. Vishal Kumar, Asset Manager of ONGC Tripura Asset Krishna Kumar, Festival Committee Secretary Rakesh Kumar and many other dignitaries were present in the programme. A large number of people gather to witness the Ram Leela and Dussehra festivals. Huge effigies of Ravan are burnt here.
