Teliamura, Tripura, 3rd of October, 2024 : Mungiakami police seized a huge cache of contraband Phensedyl and Cough Syrup Worth Over 50 lakh at Mungiakami, under Teliamura Subdivision on Thursday (3rd October, 2024). In the operation a man was apprehended and his truck vehicle was seized.
According to the information received, on the specific input of the Intelligence officer, Mungiakami, a Special Operation a truck loaded with stones from outside the state was entering Tripura with a large quantity of drug paraphernalia, and their destination was Agartala. Mungiakami police station OC Gautam Debbarma, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pannalal Sen and DCM Biswajit Majumder along with a large police force have been deployed in the 41 Mile Naka area. And as soon as the vehicle number NL01AF6187 was spotted, the police stopped the vehicle and unloaded the stones from the vehicle and found 54 pink colored boxes and 18 blue colored boxes.
As usual they searched the boxes and found a large quantity of Phensedyl and Cough Syrup. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pannalal Sen said, the amount of confiscated drugs is estimated to be more than 50 lakh rupees. Moreover, he said, the police have arrested the driver and Assistant of the car. However, for the sake of investigation, the police did not clarify where the drug had come from and where it was planned to take it.
