(1) OPERATIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS.

PREVENTION OF TRANS-BORDER CRIMES (SEIZURE OF CONTRABAND ITEMS)

During the period from 1^st Jan 2024 to 30^th June 2024, huge quantity of contraband items having total value of around Rs. 28.25 Cr have been seized, which include huge quantity of Narcotic substances viz:5,03,674Nos Yaba Tables (Rs. 25,18,37,500/-), 6,826.25Kgs dry Ganja(Rs. 4,43,24,250/-), besides, large number of cattle heads and other articles as enumerated in the following table: –

PREVENTION OF ILLEGAL INFILTRATION

Due to strict vigil on the border, troops of BSF Tripura Frontier has apprehended total 360 personnel while attempting illegal crossing of border. Total number of Bangladeshi National and Indian National apprehended by BSF are enumeratedin the following table: –

In addition to above16 touts were also apprehended during the year.

STRENGTHENING OF BORDER INFRASTRUCTURE

At present 08 Nos gaps where Single Row Fence (SRF) was pending for construction, has been completed and the gaps have been plugged. Similarly, the SRF work is in progress in 04 other stretches.

CIVIC ACTION PROGRAMME

BSF Tripura Frontier has regularly maintained very healthy and cordial relationship with the border population and organized various civic action programs over the year. During the period, several Civic Action Programs were organized and the border population were provided various equipments and basic amenities for safe drinking water, health support system, educational/study material, sports eqpts etc.

Technological Solution

Thermal imagers, night vision devices, CCTV cameras and dronesare being utilized to keepwatch along the border to prevent the infiltration and other Trans – Border crimes. Border flood lights are illuminatingthe area during the night hour. In addition, border fence is being strengthened by employing improvised method and intruder alarm.

OTHER INITIATIVE

Commandersvisiting or staying on border are regularly conducting village coordination meetings to get support of border population to prevent infiltration and Trans -Border crimes. Company commanders have also PrahariMitra to consult and get help if required.

During recently concluded IGLT at Shillong, Meghalaya IG BSF and Region commander BGB exchanged the list of criminals involved in Trans borer crimes and reached on consensus to take appropriate action against them.

Nodal officersof both theborder guarding forces are in regular contact with each other and sharing information of operational values. Under simultaneous coordinated patrol during day and night, hours BSF and BGB troops are dominating the area by conducting joint patrolling

Special teams have been constituted to apprehend illegal BD and Rohingyasimmigrants from depth area like railway stations and bus stands.
