With the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Government of Tripura celebrated Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Birth Anniversary at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala on Monday (25th September, 2023).
“Indianness can be found in Pandit Deendayal’s philosophy of life. He believed that India would not be well-off with western thought or western philosophy. For the overall development of the country and the welfare of the people, a philosophy of life with the spirit of Indianess is needed which will keep everyone united and benefit everyone. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya has given us the trace of that vision.”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the celebration ceremony of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Birth Anniversary. At the programme, the Chief Minister said that India’s traditional philosophy is now being embraced in the world. The philosophy of Western countries is gradually declining. His philosophy of integrated humanism is now reflected everywhere. This philosophy is associated with Indian culture. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a writer, philosopher and political figure. He was also a proponent of holistic humanism and philosophy of Antyodaya. His philosophy was neglected in our country for a long time. After Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, the country has been celebrating the birth anniversaries of mainstream political figures like Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and their philosophy of life is being showed to the present and future generation.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also added that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya believed that progress is possible only with the resources that exist in nature. Progress will not come if we are separated. We must be united for progress. The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi has led the G20, India will lead the world in the future. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the welfare of the last person of the society under the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The State Government is also working tirelessly for the welfare of the last person of the society.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha offered floral tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary. Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and other dignitaries present also paid tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Director of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharya delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and Secretary ICA, Department Dr. P. K. Chakraborty also spoke on the occasion. Vice Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty and other dignitaries were present in the programme.The winners of the essay competition organized on the occasion of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary were awarded. The guests handed over awards to them. Sagardeep Kuri Modak, Abhishek Sarkar and Tanmoy Sarkar stood first, second and third respectively in the essay competition. After the programme, an open quiz competition was held on the life and philosophy of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
