BSF – BGB BORDER CO-ORDINATION CONFERENCE CONCLUDES.

Inspectors General BSF – Region Commanders BGB level Border Co-ordination Conference conducted from 07th – 11th June 2021through Video Tele Conferencing (VTC) concluded today (Forenoon)with signing of Joint Record of Discussion (JRD) document. This is the first time when this prestigious Biannual Conference was held through tele conferencing, in the wake of COVID pandemic situation.

During the conference, various bilateral border issues like trans-border crimes including smuggling of drugs and other narcotic substances, activities by Indian Insurgent Groups from Bangladesh side, border violation and their preventive measures, pending developmental works, construction of Single Row Fence along Indo-Bangladesh International Boundary and Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) were discussed at length. Leaders of both the delegations agreed to initiate preemptive measures in creating an environment of peace and tranquility along the International border by amicably resolving all the pending issues and further strengthening the bond of friendship, trust and co-operation.

The head of BGB delegation by Tanveer Gani Chowdhury, Additional Director General, Region Commander, South-East Region, Chattogram conveyed his gratitude to BSF delegation for attending the Video Tele Conference and for making valuable contribution through thoughtful deliberations, which resulted into successful conclusion with agreements on various aspects.

The head of BSF delegation Sh. Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, Inspector General, BSF Tripura Frontier also highlighted sincere commitment of both the Border Guarding Forces in maintaining peace and harmony along the Indo-Bangladesh International Border and in strengthening the already robust friendly relations.
