The Promptness Of Timber Thieves Increased In Ampi.

The outlaw timber thieves became very active here at Ampinagar, Gomati Tripura. Either it may be day or night these outlaw log traders of Ampinagar are destroying teak and other valuable tress in the forest garden rapidly at present. All the big trees on both sides of Teliamura-Amarpur road specially between Ampi and Twidu have been disappeared within a short period of time. Sources said that these outlaw log trader gangs cut trees at about mid night in the forest garden; they have log carrying vehicle with them so they keep their truck on the main road and cut mature trees just nearby main road and upload them on truck and take away logs to their destination without any obstacle. When public are traveling on this road they witness the piteous situation of the forest resource and accused the concerned departmental officials who do not care to protect these valuable trees. Despite of check posts at Ampi and Twidu how illegal log loaded trucks cross these check posts? Both the sides of the road have become almost blank at present.

Sajal Roy, a local inhabitant of Hari Pur said that many of his mature teak trees have been stollen at deep night by those criminal gangs. Now they are destroying public teak garden. The administration does not take any initiative to arrest these outlaws till the date. Sajal Roy has filed a F.I.R in Ampi PS but nothing happened later on. The forest destroyers are openly roaming but in fear people cannot do anything. The log plunderers have automatic tree cutting saw machine and destroying forest rapidly here and there openly in Ampinagar. The concerned higher authority must investigate this sensational issue for which the local inhabitants are in great wrath. A proper initiative should be taken by the concerned higher authority immediately to stop like this forest destructive tendency to protect the local forests, demanded the local people of Ampi.
