The tribal areas of the state were considerably revitalized after the obtaining of power in the autonomous district councils or ADCs by the TIPRA Motha political party. The party, led by Pradyut Kishor, took up the demand of Greater Tipraland across the state, but did not get the power to govern the state in the 2023 assembly election. Since then, the party has undergone a series of changes, including changes in its organization. In this situation, the party is trying to revive itself ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election. And as part of this, a one-day organizational conference took place at the Gandatwisa subdivision today where a large number TMP leaders have assembled to take participation in it. Aiming to unify the organization TIPRA Motha of Gandatwisa subdivision in Dhalai district conducted this organizational joining programme in at Kanaan K’ta Para in Ultachara VC in Gandatwisa subdivision at Twelve O’clock today.
As per the report, total of eight TMP MLAs were present in the programme. The programme was presided over by party president Muidhan Reang. MLAs Animesh Debbarma, Philip Kumar Reang, Vishwajeet Kalai, Manav Debbarma, Sanjaymanik Tripura, Swapna Debbarma, Nandita Reang and former MLA Dhananjay Tripura were also present in the conference. Sources said, many other local leaders were also participated in this TMP organizational programme. Addressing the gathering Animesh Debbarma said that only TIPRA Motha can bring peace and prosperity for the indigenous people of the TTAADC. He appealed to everyone to vote TMP in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. At the end of the programme, 1246 voters from 363 families left various parties and joined the TIPRA Motha organization through this programme in 44 Raima Valley constituency. The present leaders of the party handed over the flag of TMP to the newcomers and included them with warm welcome in the organization.
